I found this Casting-On-and-Binding-Off link online and thought I would post it in my crafts blog. This would make it easier to find when I want it.

Chickentbuttcoasters

Lately I have seen many funny cat butt coasters on Facebook and Instagram. People started making more variations of it, like dogs and chicken butt coasters. Edna Lochamy posted a picture of her very funny chicken butt coaster on Facebook (which got deleted from the Facebook group one day later), which inspired me to make chicken butt coasters for Easter. So far there are no (free) patterns available for the chicken butt version, so I decided to figure it out myself and put the description of my version below.

Fingerless Gloves

I found this fingerless glove pattern on All Free Knitting. I'll post a photo of my own finished product when I have one.

2-1 Hot Cocoa Hat and Cowl

Materials

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick (80% acrylic, 20% wool; 106 yards [97 meters]/170 grams): Barley (1 skein)
Needles: US size 15 (12.0 mm) double pointed needles (but standard knitting needles work well too)
Notions: Yarn needle, button (optional)

Pattern

Cast on 44 stitches.
Rows 1-6: Work in ribbing stitch (knit one, purl one).
Rows 7-16: Work in garter stitch (knit every row).
Rows 17-22: Work in ribbing stitch. Cast off with a long yarn end.
Thread the yarn end into a yarn needle,
Bring both ends of the rectangle together and sew to form a tube.
To make a drawstring, pass one or two strands of yarn through the last row of stitches on the cast off end.
(If your yarn is not strong enough, work a cord of chain stitches.)
To wear as a hat: Tie in a bow to gather up and wear as a hat.
To wear as a cowl: leave the cord relaxed to wear as a pull-over cowl.
Optional, sew on a button for decoration.

Beans the cat

Hello friends, as promised, I have a sweet little cat pattern to share with you today.
His name is Beans and he is a friendly little fellow:)
I have knitted him in the round in the Magic Loop but you can also knit him on dpns in the round or knit him flat and simply sew him up at the back, if you prefer to knit on 2 needles. If this is what you would like to do then just knit the pattern in stocking stitch, flat with 2 needles.
He could also be a cute owl, just give him bigger eyes, a beak and don’t add a tail:)
Materials:
Oddments of variegated dk wool
4mm circular needle or dpns or 4mm straight needles
Sewing up needle
Fleece for stuffing
Abbreviations:
kfb: knit into the front and back of the stitch to increase
dpns: double pointed needles
knit 2 tog: knit 2 stitches together
Pattern:
Cast on 10 stitches and join for knitting in the round with the magic loop or on dpns
Round 1: Knit
Round 2: kfb into each stitch (20 stitches)
Round 3: kfb into each stitch (40 stitches)
Rounds 4-15: Knit
Round 16: (Knit 1, knit 2 tog) across the round knit 1 stitch on the end (27 stitches)
Rounds 17-26: Knit
Cast off
Finishing Off:
Hold the top of the cast off edge together flat and sew in and out, closing the top of your cat’s head.

I don't remember where I found this pattern, but I know I didn't create it myself.  I don't want to take credit for other peoples work.

I wanted to offer a pattern to show that lace doesn’t have to be difficult. This four-row pattern is easy to memorize, and very forgiving of mistakes. Can’t remember if row 1 or row 3 comes next? Just pick one. To substitute yarn, be sure to choose needles several sizes larger than recommended.
Finished measurements: Approx. 8″ x 60″
Materials:
Malabrigo Rios – 1 skein
US size 10.5 needles
Gauge:
3 sts = 1 inch in pattern stitch. Gauge is not critical for this pattern.
Instructions:
Cast on 25 stitches using the long tail method. Knit one row.
Begin lace pattern:
Row 1: knit 1, *yo, k2tog* to end
Rows 2 & 4: purl
Row 3: *k2tog, yo* to last stitch, knit 1
Repeat these four rows until you reach the desired length, or until approximately one yard of yarn
remains.
Knit one row. Bind off.
Weave in ends and block to open up the lace pattern.

*K2. P2. Rep from * around.
